'Chinglish' is thriving in Beijing
There are Manglish, Singlish and Chinglish which are all driven from mandarin. When it has been a long time you didn't meet someone, you might said 'long time no see' (很久不见). If you went to a shopping central in Saturday which is crowded , you might heard someone saying 'people mountain people sea' (人山人海)
A news published on ABC said, 'Chinglish is thriving in Beijing' . There are few examples that very interesting which i want to share with you.
- - If you are stolen, call the police ---> 如果‘你’被偷,拨电报警 the person itself being stolen doesn't mean robbed.
- - Airline Pulp (food served aboard airlines)
- - The slippery are very crafty (slippery when wet)
- - Do not climb the rocketry (rock wall)
- - Deformed man toilet (handicapped restroom) --> man toilet = 公厕
