Britains Got Talent 2009 - Susan Bolye

' Yes ' definitely to Susan Boyle , 47 of age. The latest star born from a village in Britain.

The phenomenal popularity of Susan Boyle has led to dozens of websites being set up by fans and cybersquatters looking to cash in on the global interest in the Britain's Got Talent star.

Since Boyle appeared on the launch show of the ITV1 talent search series on 11 April more than 30 websites have sprung up that use her name to try attract web users looking for the video of her performance and more information about her.

Boyle, an unemployed 47-year-old Scottish charity worker, has become an unlikely star after her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from the musical Les Misérables became a global YouTube hit and attracted the attention of broadcasters, websites and newspapers around the world.

While Boyle does not have an official web presence herself, according to research conducted by web domain company Sedo, fans and cybersquatters have registered websites in her name across Europe and the US and in seemingly unlikely countries such as Turkey.

The domain name SusanBoyle.co.uk was registered on 10 April and put together quickly as a fan site.

"Every time a new star like Susan Boyle is born there is always a huge surge in new registration activity," said Nora Nanayakkara, the director of business development at Sedo.

"While the new domains offer overwhelming support for the new star ... fan sites should be careful not to overstep the lines between a fan site and a money-making site."

An unlikely beneficiary of the global interest in the Britain's Got Talent star has been Texas-based artist Susan K Boyle, owner of the SusanBoyle.com domain, who has seen a huge increase in visits in the past couple of weeks.

"I can only hope there are one or two art lovers/buyers among them," Boyle said in an email to a tech website late last week. -- guardian.co.uk

YouTube Symphony Orchestra

The You Tube Symphony Orchestra performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Wednesday night. ---The New York Times

A symphony orchestra composed of 96 musicians from 33 countries chosen online via YouTube has won applause in New York's prestigious Carnegie Hall.

They ranged in age from 15 to 55 years old and came from as far as Australia, South Korea, Russia, Sweden, Israel and Cuba - with the notable exception of Muslim and African countries.

More than 3,000 musicians from 70 countries auditioned through the video sharing website.

The chosen 96 won a plane ticket and a three-day stay in New York to participate in various gatherings at the Juilliard School of Music and in the Carnegie Hall concert, directed by San Francisco Symphony Orchestra's Michael Tilson Thomas.

"This is at the same time a classical concert, a summit, a scout jamboree and a speed date," Tilson Thomas said.

Colombian trombonist John Wilson Gonzalez, 27, told AFP the concert was a "marvellous experience."

"It was unimaginable that I could get to play in Carnegie Hall, a mythical theatre where only the great musicians play," added Gonzalez, the principal trombonist of the symphony orchestra of Caldas, Colombia.

At his side, 30-year-old Manuel Ramos - a Mexican from Monterrey - shared Gonzalez's enthusiasm.

"I am a professional violinist but I do not play classical music, but rather jazz, gypsy music. But there was an opportunity to participate in the contest and here I am," he said.

"It's impressive what you can do when people get together like this. It's lovely," he added.

The concert program included works by Bach, Mozart, Villa Lobos, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Lou Harrison, John Cage, and contemporary Chinese composer Tan Dun's Internet Symphony Number One Eroica, which was created especially for the occasion.

"From the first rehearsal on Monday the orchestra sounded really good," said Pierre Charles, a 27-year-old French cellist, who also studies physics at Jussieu University in Paris.

"I was astonished because I thought it would take a lot longer to get ready," he said.

"The sound was right straight away."

Koichi Osada, an amateur oboist from the Japanese city of Yokohama, said: "This event will help people to become more familiar with classical music, even people who have not been interested in classical music."

"I hope all the people will listen to the video created after the concert," he added. - AFP

Bedtime stories

Yesterday went to watch Bedtime Stories with Hera, Phooi and Kim. We are thinking to celebrate early birthday with Phooi. (Phooi's birthday is on 29th.)

Betime Stories is a nice comedy. It made us laugh a lot. I like the scene where there have this bubble gum rains and BBQ marshmallow at roof terrace with romantic night view...

The Day The Earth Stood Still

I watch this movie today with Sze Yen and her friend , Fei. Umm... the movie is quite boring. I though this movie similar like 'The Island' but this does not has much actions and not excited at all. -.-!

Synopsis:
The 2008 remake about an alien and his indestructible robot will star Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, Jennifer Connelly as Helen Benson, Jaden Smith as Jacob, and Kathy Bates. Gort has not been cast at this time and will most likely be created using SFX.

The remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still will supposedly remain true to the original movie. However, there is a chance the remake will more likely remain true to the short story upon which the 1951 movie is based. In either case, the alien weaponry seems to have been upgraded. In addition to a city going dark, and a very brief look at the new Gort, the film trailer shows a cloud of black smoke, capable of rapid movement and disintegrating matter on contact.

In the 1951 movie, Gort is described as one of a race of robots created by the planets to maintain peace throughout the galaxy. If the 2008 remake follows "Farewell to the Master," the short story by Harry Bates upon which the 1951 movie is based will be used for the ending, which will not be revealed here.

If you watch the korean show 'We got married' , you may noticed that there is a part where english sub titled 'clazziquai'. Most of the time you can see this name when Alex sing. Remeber i like the song 'Flowerpot' ? Then, my friend, kim recommend me 'Romeo & Juliet' . This is a nice song too! The AlShin's couple duet and record it in the studio. I found my niece, Joey is listening to a song called 'Lover Boy ' which the singer is 'Clazziquai'. So after asking my friend who is a fans to Korean Pop Singer and after doing some Googleeeee... Finaly know that , it is a group where actually Alex come from.

High School Musical, one of the movie that my niece like. This movie released version 3 in Malaysia last month. I saw the magazines and some of the movie's products in bookshops like Popular or MPH. The price they sell is extremely high. I am thinking that their target segment is teenagers. Why they set their product cost so much? Are those teenagers able to afford it? Maybe they do but i don't. =(

With Shin Ae in the control room, Alex proceeds to sing Flowerpot by Loveholic as a farewell song. Didn’t fancy this song very much initially but now I do and will remember Alex and Shin Ae when I listen to this. The lyrics just describes them perfectly.

In We Got Married episod 8, Alex send a love shape plant to Shin Ae and sing this 'flowerpot' as a farewell gift. He have to leave the show 2 months for preparing his first solo album. Shin Ae do not know he is leaving at all. After watching this episode, feel touching whenever listen to this song.

I like this Korean show 'We Got Married' . They invite some artists to form as couple in group and have to live together towards the show. It contributes a lot of funs. Some couples in this shows are adorable, especially the 'lettuce couple' Hyunjoong & Hwangbo and Alex & Shinae couple. Lettuce couple are funny, the bride is older than the bridegroom but they are energetic in competiting each other in sport games. Then, Alex & Shinae couple are very romantic. Alex is given a nickname as professor romantic, he have many romantic ways to attract his bride and he also open a concert for her wife in the show.

One of the easily get in arguement group, Crown J & Inyeong. Both of them are pop stars. Good in rap. Most of the time, you can see them fight with each others. Two different people that have their own living style gotta live together. It is a sure that they must have vary opinions sometimes. Crown J & Inyeong fight when cooking instant noodle. Crown J want to put in noodle first but Inyeong want him to put in the noodle after the water is boiled. It is a realistic show. People always fight by the little things like eating. You may have your self living style or cooking style but you need to find a way so you can stay together longer. This couple always fight, but the show is still on. They have to continue their married life by tolerate with each other. It is the same situation when we comes into real life. If you are married, how do you resolved the problem within you and the other half?

I thought Andy & Solbi are the most romantic couple but my friends said Alex & Shinae is better. From my view, i think Andy & Solbi is too much. They are more based in acting whereas, the other couple is more realistic. One story for Alex & shinae have to take care of the 4 babies. It is a difficult job for them where they are not the real couple and not having their own baby in real life though. Although it is just one part of the mission on show, they still perform well and act like a couple in realistic. Both wife and husband trying hard to make the babies stop crying , play with them to make them happy, bathing the babies, feed them and the wife look after the babies while husband do cooking... It is totaly a happy family, so warm and sweet.




A funny part from Shinae in episod 26 part 1. Look at minute 5.55. She talks to the 12 months old baby:' If you don't like cheese, then say you hate it . "Give me the rice cracker" ,why can't you say it. ' hahaha~ looks silly a bit !

Kung Fu Panda

In Malaysia, Kung Fu Panda released on 6th but the show time for Australia would be next week. Most of my M'sian friends went to cinema because of this. Just now , one of my China's net friend told me some chinese started to boycott this movie. They wanted to pamper their anger to Sarah's who insult China during the Sichuan's earthquake.
