Goodbye Beijing Olympic

China achieved their goal and aim 51 gold medal in Beijing Olympic. This is the first time that Asia country achieve more goal medal than United States. It is proud to hear they successfully hit the target they set in early stage of the game. However, there are a lot of tears and blood behind every successful story.

After some years, Malaysia finally aim a silver medal. It is touchable to hear that our badminton singles men Lee Chong Wei get into the final and taken the silver medal. Although all the local newspaper highlighted he should be able to challenge a gold medal, i'm not surprise that he didn't get it and i believe that he already did his best! Games are fair enough to play. We are not the athletes, we never know how much of pressure the government, the sport's team, the media or the public have given to them. Thus, do not put your dream on someone that can burden him. When watching the live matches which Lee Chong Wei against Lin Dan from China, I know the pressure is there, as same as everyone who participate the games.

Lee was mentally out of control, he loss on that match, that is not his fault. I'm disappointed on those media who like to highlight how worst or how shameful someone did but not encouraging someone or appreciate the effort they did for our country. Do you still remember how long we never get a final qualification for badminton singles men in Olympic? Do you know how much those athletes spends for training? Do you appreciate that our Olympic results from Beijing is one and the only one silver medal? Whats a sad that not many people appreciate it.

Beijing Olympic Fireworks Pictures

Olympic 2008 opening ceremony held in Beijing on yesterday night 8pm. The fireworks is so grand in 'bird nest' National stadium. I like the 'bigfoot' fireworks, the idea is very creative. During the ceremony last night, there show 29 bigfoot across all historical buildings in Beijing to the stadium. It shows that this is the 29th Olympic.

Olympic 2008 countdown

2 days to go for Olympic 2008. I am looking forward to watch the opening ceremony which held in Beijing on Friday night. Although I am not born in China, I think most of the Chinese will also feel proud to witness the Olympic games held in China. This could be a brand new page in history for all Chinese around the world.

8th of August, 2008 at 8.08pm ,what an amazing number. I like those numeric in same sequence. ^0^ Besides, the number of '8' in Chinese means 'treasure' which bring us good luck. There is a news reported that about 16,400 Beijing couples have applied to have their married registered on this auspicious date.

Back to the sport, as a Malaysian I really hope our athletes will do their best performance in this game no matter what is the result. Or i should said, we know our standard, not aiming too high from them which might become a barrier of success. As long as they have tried out best, gain more experiences for upgrade to an international level, that is more than enough.

There are some funny photo for Olympic countdown which i noticed from ChinaDaily.
I like this photo the most. It is difficult to capture a perfect angle with this pose. Phew~ really can't imagine that we just have to wait for another 45 hours, then the Beijing Olympic games will began. 'One World One Dream'.

'Chinglish' is thriving in Beijing

There are Manglish, Singlish and Chinglish which are all driven from mandarin. When it has been a long time you didn't meet someone, you might said 'long time no see' (很久不见). If you went to a shopping central in Saturday which is crowded , you might heard someone saying 'people mountain people sea' (人山人海)

A news published on ABC said, 'Chinglish is thriving in Beijing' . There are few examples that very interesting which i want to share with you.

  • - If you are stolen, call the police ---> 如果‘你’被偷,拨电报警 the person itself being stolen doesn't mean robbed.
  • - Airline Pulp (food served aboard airlines)

  • - The slippery are very crafty (slippery when wet)

  • - Do not climb the rocketry (rock wall)

  • - Deformed man toilet (handicapped restroom) --> man toilet = 公厕
