YB Ong BP Was Arrested Under Film Censorship Act 2002
ADUN Tebing Tinggi, YB Ong Boon Piow was arrested by the police and brought to the Pekan Baru Police Station yesterday. He was then released around 1 in the morning.
8:00pm About 200 people gathered at Chin Woo Hall Ipoh for the launching of the video clip on 'the Democracy under the tree'. People who make a donation of RM10 could get a free sample copy in DVD.
10:30pm Police arrived. YB Ong Boon Piow was arrested under the Film Censorship Act 2002 for 'manufacturing, circulating, distributing, displaying' the DVD without 'sijil B' . Dato Ngeh Koo Ham accompany him to the police station located at new town. Shortly, YB Wong Kah Woh posting up the news on his blog titled ' YB Ong Boon Piow Arrested ' .
01:10am YB Ong Boon Piow was released on personal bond. Ong was requested to report himself to the police on 13 April. Such an offence entails a fine from RM5,000 to RM30,000, three years’ jail or both.
