Say No To Cyanide

This article is from Jelas.info
Title: Ng Yen Yen: Why are you letting RAGM posion the residents of Raub?

Wanted to draw attention to this video below.

The people of Raub obviously feel very strongly that Raub Australian Gold Mining (RAGM) is using cyanide as part of its mining process, and that it’s causing severe life-endangering environmental damage in Raub.

With nothing short of their lives at stake, I think we’re looking at yet another example of simple Malaysian citizens who are pushed into taking drastic action because they’ve been forced into a corner by authorities that probably care more about money than the lives of those who entrusted them to rule.

Minute 2.00 onwards has some especially great moments demonstrating how Malaysians don’t put up with crap lying down, even in the face of noxious police intimidation. The bravery shown by some of those old ladies (not to mention their brilliantly scathing comments :) gives us inspiration and hope that this country will not stand long for oppression.

I mention Ng Yen Yen because one of the residents specifically did in the video. She seems to be a million miles away, enjoying ministership while her constituents face cyanide.

I’m not that familiar with the whole case, although I did hear of it even way back. I’ll let the video do the talking:

Bukit Koman, Raub residents fear for safety - Cyanide

To: To those who care...

Raub is a town full of peacefully wealthy. Due to recently the emerging of Cyanide, the valley is deeply submerged into terrifying. Raub is place we live and growth up, our properties and home are all here in this little valley. There is no reason to move to other places. Mining processing facilities only two kilometers away from residential area, only across the street to be exact, why is the Pahang Mineral and Geoscience Department still approved the application to use this lethal chemical, Cyanide, to extract the gold?

We need to gather all of your voices to say NO to Cyanide!!!

Police In Perak State Assembly

On 7th of May, many police who are not wearing their uniform are gather in the Perak state assenbly hall. It is a DUN Perak , there already have enough security inside the hall but why police are still there?

If all of these police get out of the assembly hall and patrol around Ipoh, it will significantly reduce the robbery cases in town.

Some said Perak is now being well known as 'Police state'. People should be very pleased because we are safe. Unfortunately, what has caused are all sorts of people anger and dislike.
Yesterday, they are 3 victims from Ipoh had been killed by robbers. Perak - a police state, we have a big group of police in the state assembly but the basic public security issues are neglected.

What are the roles of a police? It is the duty of police to fight against the criminals. They are suppose to maintain law and order. To equally protect the security of all people. However, from what we can see, police is no more nature and be fair to all parties. Not even for the repersentatitives by people. We voted our repersentatives to voice out in the state assembly but now police are taking them off of the assmbly hall. Are they terrorists or criminals? They are repersenting the people. From the time police step into the assembly hall , democracy is dead. The people right have been deprived. The seperation of powers between the judiciary , executive and legislative should be enforced not being destroyed.
